Too old Bruce. Maybe an 80's Jap bike would be OK, but the 70's? It may run good because the present owner babies it and dosn't ride her often, but I garantee you that 23 years is a long time for bolted metal to stay in one piece. It may perform ok for a while, but as much as you ride, you'll start having little quirks with it. Unless you like tinkering on Saturdays to keep it up, I'd pass. Actually, for 600$, it might be fun if you don't plan to put anything into it and keep the reliable Savage. It's your wallet and no matter what you ride, your still a biker.
